Again,
it’s been a while since my last blog and I feel bad about it but I’ve been
trying my best to keep up with a very active 2 ½ year old boy and haven’t had
much time for jotting my thoughts down.
Since
I last blogged on Valentine’s Day, it’s only fitting that I start with the
weekend following. We have been rather busy since then. The night of Valentine’s
Day, Troy left for a “guys” ski trip up north near Lapland in Ruka. He and his
friends wouldn’t be back until Monday. He had a great time for the short time
he was there, because on Saturday evening I received a call from him informing
me that he was on his way to the hospital 2 hours away in Oulu. He fell and
cracked two ribs. I was scared to death and felt horrible that I was 7 hours away and couldn’t do a thing about it. None of the guys
could go with him in the ambulance, because of policy and he was adamant about
no one going with him. So he was in the hospital from Saturday to Tuesday
morning by himself. He ended up having a collapsed lung (pneumothorax) from
when the ribs punctured his lung. One of our biggest scares so far to date. He’s
doing good now and seems to be on the mend. He has 5 to 6 weeks until his ribs
are completely healed so he’s been taking it easy.
The following weekend, it was time for me.
Planned ahead of time, a girl’s weekend away to Estonia, Tallinn but I was
worried I may have to cancel because of what happened to Troy but he insisted
that I go. I was very excited to get away for the weekend, well worth the wait.
My friend and I got there and had dinner at a nice restaurant (http://www.balthasar.ee/?lang=eng),
recommended by another friend. It was wonderful and we really enjoyed it. We
had a nice time just sitting there for hours having adult conversation without having interruptions. Our “spa” day was the next morning for most of the day. We both
really had a great day and it is something that I look forward to doing again
someday.

Today, present 3/10/13, Troy Jr is growing like a weed and talking in full sentences when he gets a chance. He likes to voice his opinion on a few things but other than that, he's really changing daily in front of our very eyes. He's really a very sweet little boy and so loving.
Chloe is thriving and enjoying school so much. She's our little Miss "Mommy" trying to help out with her baby brother any way she can. She loves to teach him anything new that she knows because it makes her so happy when he learns it right beside her. They are too cute together but as always in any family, they do fight like siblings do. He gets on her nerves as well as she gets on his but for the most part they are very loving to each other and get along very well.
Everyone is well, doing good and happy that Spring/Summer is almost on it's way here in Helsinki. Happy Easter & Happy Spring to everyone!
