I'm not going to lie, but I was so nervous about today. Troy Jr back in May started showing signs of having Strabismus but his ophthalmologist in Florida stated to us at his last appointment before we left, that he wasn't concerned and it should work itself out and improve. Since getting here in July, it took a little while before I found a new pediatric ophthalmologist, but with a little help from the Embassy nurse we were able to locate a local one and really close too. I was very excited about that. We all got up just like any other day but I was still worried the whole time before leaving for his appointment. I prepared myself knowing that his eye would probably need a little help to fix it. Knowing all of our children are different, I couldn't stop thinking about Chloe having her strabismus surgery at 6 months old how frantic I was as a first time mother of this newborn going "under the knife". It wasn't that kind of worry because I knew it wasn't that bad and something else could be done. I had that motherly instinct, and I prayed a whole lot. The last two weeks as his mother seeing him everyday, just about 24/7, I myself could see an improvement, so I think that helped me out for today.
We got there a little before the appointment time and in no time were seeing the doctor. She was very nice, and so easy to talk to. She looked at Troy Jr immediately, was quiet but smiled, so I knew it was good already and she didn't even have to say anything. It was a great first meeting and I liked her very much. At the end of the appointment she did tell me that she wasn't worried about it because she could tell that both of his eyes were working together and that it wasn't just one by itself. They will work together, and hopefully the muscles will strengthen on their own and the strabismus will go away on it's own. She wants to see both Chloe & Troy Jr for their Ocular Albinism, just like they saw their doctor back in Florida, every 6 months to a year depending on their check ups and how they are doing. She told me that Troy Jr is doing fine but she wants to see him in March so she can check on the strabismus and see what has happened since our last visit. Any progress or if none at all. We'll just have to wait and see, pray a whole lot and hopefully he'll be getting another good report like he did today. I've always said, the power of prayer, such a beautiful thing. Prayers are answered, you just have to be patient and believe in Him. Lots of love to you all, always!! ;)
