We got to the bank, and by the time we finished it had stopped raining. The sun had come out and I was so happy because we still needed to get to central to wait on a bus to get ourselves home, so Troy went to work & we took off for the bus. We were so lucky, the bus was there and we got on it and just had to wait a few minutes before taking off. We were home in no time and of course, I believe it was about 20 minutes that we were home, and then the rain started again. That was pretty much our Tuesday. We didn't do anything on Wednesday because we had to stay home to wait for the lady coming over to hang our curtains that the Embassy had ordered for the house. Of course not all of them were in but it was good that she had the majority of them. They really came out nice and we are enjoying them.
On Thursday, Melanie, wife of JP who works with Troy, emailed and wanted to see if we were doing anything and I told her no, let's get together, which we did. We meet at our usual place, the Helsinki Playground (underground). Our children's favorite. Then afterwards we'd meet our husbands for lunch. The children were having a ball and as always, we've enjoyed each others company & conversation. We ended up meeting, Karen, who is from Colorado originally, but is living in London with her husband, and two children. All of our children met each other and ended up playing together the whole time. It was great and so nice to sit and have a conversation with another person that spoke English, much less from America. A real treat!! Makes you realize how much you do appreciate what you have in your life and what you've had. The couple of hours we were there was nice, and a great visit with Karen. We hope to all stay in touch with her. During that time, I got a call from Troy saying he wouldn't be able to meet us because they were that busy and he just couldn't leave the office but that JP was going to meet us. So, Melanie and I rounded up the troops and took off for the metro to meet JP at, what seems to be all of our favorite restaurant now, Vapiano's (http://www.vapiano.de/frame.php?section=home&lang=fi)

While walking to the metro, we decided to take the tram to Central instead. Got on the tram in about 10 minutes and were at the restaurant about 10 minutes later. Had a great lunch, enjoyed the company, and the great day we had with the Alcon's but it was time to go because I had a 4yr old that wasn't too happy with life at that moment. Of course we had a meltdown in the middle of the restaurant and then dealt with that until we left. Got her into the stroller and walked as fast as I could to the bus depot to wait for the bus to go home. It was not a great end of the day but I managed it pretty well and got it done, just like I always do. She finally calmed down a little when we got to the stop and finally started to fall asleep but ended up just resting. She and her baby brother took their naps when they got home and what was weird to me, I actually fell asleep on the couch while they were napping. Never happens here, but it did and I was kind of glad that it had. It was nice to have a little extra sleep and I felt like a whole new person when I woke. Other than that, the day turned out to be a very nice one but of course you know the rain had to come eventually. We had another downpour around 5 that evening. It wasn't too bad and it just made it more cooler. Nice, nice, nice!! Love it
